Engine and Transmission World was founded around a really simple idea: why should people have to pay so much for engine repair? Why is it that the auto industry wants customers to get involved in payment plans and financing options and the like? And why is it that the American driver gets so few options when it comes to automotive repair?

It’s a longer answer than you think.

At the bottom, what we find is a profit motive on the part of the automotive industry. No surprise, of course: all businesses want to make money. But what the auto industry found is that they make more money getting you into a new car faster, with a financing plan and all of that.

That means getting you out of your old car as soon as possible. So to that end, they drastically mark up the engine, and the cost of labor for working for the big name of the car company. Given that much financial hassle, it just makes sense to trade the one vehicle in and get that sporty number you’ve been eyeing, with a hundred dollars paid every month forever.

Engine and Transmission World didn’t agree with that. We sell used auto parts so that people can maintain their financial independence and get more life from their vehicles.
